**The Golf -Swan Point Yacht & Country Club started as a nine-hole golf course along the banks of the Potomac River in Southern Maryland. In the late 80’s Bob Cupp, world renowned golf course designer and consultant to the Augusta National Golf was hired to expand and redesign Swan Point. **The Swan Point Social Club (SPSC) (Formerly the Gardeners at Swan Point)
The original Gardeners at Swan Point was organized in 1993,and after 20 wonderful years, the members voted to change the name and broaden the focus of the club. The Swan Point Social Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Swan Point Clubhouse. Meetings usually consist of a speaker on a broad variety of topics at 10 am, business meeting at 11 am, and lunch by noon, unless we are on a field trip. The objective of the club is to create a social setting to make friends,have fun, and learn from interesting guest speakers. We also go on a variety of field trips and contribute to the betterment of our community.
The Yacht Club @ Swan Point
The Yacht Club at Swan Point is a social club created by your neighbors who are interested in enjoying and protecting our water resources. We promote boating, fishing, kayaking, boating education, training and water safety, clean water stewardship, local and regional outings, and especially making new friends.
Swan Point Bridge Club
The Swan Point Bridge Group consists of 8 regular members who meet 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday except the third Wednesday of each month in the Ladies’ Card Room at the clubhouse. There are two tables of party bridge, with a 30-minute break for lunch. This is a friendly group with a broad level of experience, so don’t be intimidated! The group maintains a list of approximately 8 substitutes and new members are always welcome.
Swan Point Quilting Club
The Swan Point Quilting Club meets evenings the first Monday of every month hosted by our members, we have two yearly all day quilt workshops, in the spring and fall. At our meetings we bring projects we are working on, and/or have finished to share with the other members. We do group projects and are always looking for new challenges. Our member’s quilting skill levels range from beginner to advanced. We always welcome new members, and are eager to share our skills and knowledge.
Mahjong Club
Mahjong is a game of skill and strategy played with a set of 144 tiles, based upon Chinese characters & symbols. There are 3 or 4 players in a single group setup. The Mahjong Club is an informal gathering of players from Swan Point, Cobb Island and other nearby communities who meet at the Swan Point Clubhouse on Mondays from 9:30 A.M. until noon. Another session is from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M on Thursdays. Beginners are welcome and any number of players may participate.
